Lux Interior changed the world. The Cramps led thousands of people to the bizarre and inspiring world of wild records, movies, art and a whole lifestyle that to this day inspires a worldwide phenomenon of celebratory events.
Just a matter of weeks after Lux’s death on 4th February 2009, the first ever LUX LIVES was pulled together in Edinburgh. A Glasgow event was added the following year, and every year thereafter. Related events are now held all over the so called civilised world.
Lux Interior informed us all that the Cramps were not into death, they were into “blood-boiling life.” LUX LIVES is into celebrating Lux’s life, not mourning his death. As part of that celebration, Purkhiser Entertainments International presents the first LUX LIVES EP, a blood-boiling collection of tracks by LUX LIVES alumni. Issued as a thank you to the people who attend the LUX LIVES events, these are the copies we have left, now available to you, the discerning and hungry fanatic.
The Cramps are no ordinary band. These are no ordinary cover versions, these 4 tracks take the Cramps as source material and take them them down the twisted path that the Cramps themselves took the rockabilly, surf, garage and rock’n’roll records that inspired them.
